Located within the City Palace complex, Thikana Mandir Shri Govind Devji is one of the most sacred temples of Rajasthan. Dedicated to Govind Devji, a form of Lord Krishna, the temple draws thousands of devotees and visitors every day for its divine atmosphere and religious importance.
The original idol of Govind Devji was brought from Vrindavan in the early 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Installed in a special temple within the City Palace complex, the idol could be worshipped by the Maharaja directly from his royal chambers. Today, it remains one of the seven main temples of Thakur of Vrindavan.
The temple opens and closes seven times daily according to aarti schedules:
