Located in the heart of Ram Niwas Garden, Albert Hall Museum is the oldest museum in Rajasthan and is considered to be a wonderful example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. It was designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob and opened in 1887. Originally designed as a concert hall, it was later converted into a museum showcasing rare collections related to Rajasthan’s culture, art and history.

It was named after Albert Edward (Prince of Wales), who laid the foundation in 1876. Today, the museum is a treasure trove of Rajasthan’s heritage and international collections.

  • Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh built it to promote public education and culture.
